Gullfoss and Geysirs

Hey guys!

So as I said in my last post, I went on a day trip from Reykjavik with Rose (a girl from my room) and Mariah (who had rented the car) around the golden circle on Saturday. Sadly the weather has not been that great so the pictures are not the best.

But just driving around the countryside with nothing but snowy mountains, a windy street and a house just now and then is amazing.

From Reykjavik we started driving west, passed the Þingvellir National Park and drove all the way to ‘Gullfoss’ which is a quite famous waterfall. It started off quite nice but then ended up snowing pretty much all day and at some point we weren’t even sure if we were gonna get there because it was so stormy. So here is a few pictures of snowy ‘Gullfoss’.

 

After that we drove towards the ‘Great Geysir’ where we had some lunch before we headed out in to the geothermal area.

We saw the ‘Strokkur Geysir’ erupt a couple of times. I blows up to 30 meters every few minutes. The area was really pretty but since it was really stormy we did not stay for ages.

So this was just a quick update on what I have been upto. I will post about my three-day-trip, where we went up north up to Akureyri, really soon.  So get ready for some amazingly beautiful pictures!
